Ah.. at last, my first
battle report for 404. I got a chance to come home
for the weekend so I decided to create a good old "1on1
Lost Temple" game. Player627 joined and picked
Protoss, while I went with Random. The game started and I
spawned Protoss at the 6:00 start position. Protoss
vs. Protoss is my best matchup. I built my pylon between
my 7th and 8th probe and then a gateway with my 10th probe who I
subsequently sent to scout clockwise. I found Player627 in
the first spot I checked: 9:00. I saw a forge first build,
and immediately realized he was not very GoSu and that I had a
very good chance of destroying this guy. I pulled my probe
out of his base after taking a good look and had him wait
outside for a while. After a few minutes I decided to send
my probe back in to see what Player627 was doing.. and this is
what a found:

Just as his forge first
build order indicated, he decided to cannon his entrance. This
was definately not a wise decision. I thought to myself,
"Ok. I can pretty much relax now." (I was
kinda worried about how well I'd fair considering I wasn't using my
own keyboard or mouse). Now what should I do against a
cannon crazy turtler? That's easy: reaver build and mass
expand. As you can see in the shot below, my reaver build is
underway.

As soon as I got 2 reavers
and a shuttle I figured I'd see what kind of chances I had at a
reaver drop. I was pretty sure this kid would have some
cannons by his nexus by now, considering this was not a reaver
rush.. I had been building a decent force of goons and zealots while
teching to reavers. Well, it turns out he had no probe
protection so I went all out and destroyed every one of his probes.

After all of his probes
had been annihilated a few goons came over and chased my shuttle
away.. at least he had some protection.

What next? By now
I've realized how naive this guy is so I decided to rinse and
repeat.. dropping my 2 reavers, yet again, in his still unprotected
mineral line while expanding to my natural.

At this point the game is
becoming a waste of time, so I decided to end it. I gathered
all of my forces from my main and my expansions and sent them to the
center of the map. I guess I had about 24 1/1/0 goons with
range, a few zealots, some observers and my original 2 reavers in a
shuttle.

Player627 had all about 12
goons and 4 zealots accompanying about 6 cannons near the entrance
of his base. I destroyed his force with next to no losses.
Upgrades and reaver support will cut down unupgraded troops with
cannon support in no time.

Looks like Game Over for
Player627.
