For the first 5-7 minutes, you could look at each of the
two bases, and aside from color they were identical.
Almost like clockwork the two opponents seemed to be
using the same strategy, until VictorBulge took the first
deviation. He moved
to the side and expanded first, leaving DepotMan a bit behind.
VictorBulge sent up a small series of
Zerglings with which to scout, and they met around 12 Zerglings
and 4 Hydras. At
this point, 1 sunken was the difference between them.
As Depotman’s spire finishes,
VictorBulge’s lair has just begun.
If an all out attack on VictorBulge were executed,
DepotMan would have more of an attack force.
However, DepotMan decides to attack with only his air.
VictorBulge was waiting with 8 Hydras and 6 Mutalisks.
The battle was even, but VictorBulge
had DepotMan outupgraded. He
attempts to counter against DepotMan’s expansion and actually
kills 8 Mutalisks, and all of the drones before being killed.
DepotMan decides to do a delayed
counter attack, and takes 12 Mutas behind VictorBulge’s
mineral line. He
kills 8 Mutas, a few drones and a spore colony before being
lured over 3 spore colonies!
He had potential to do serious damage, but a small
mistake such as this has just set him back a lot.
The next attack from VictorBulge is
successful as DepotMan loses his only expansion.
DepotMan tried to expand, but VictorBulge just
overwhelmed him.
