Starcraft Clans

I first became aware of clans when I played my first multiplayer Warcraft II game. Different people getting into games, bragging about their site, all with the same tag. It was a good idea. You'd join a clan, and you could actually get a few games in without dealing with alot of nonsensical chatter and spam.
Today, in Starcraft, most clans are a completely different concept. Instead of gathering to play games, alot of clans gather to chat endlessly and start clan wars. One such clan, the Royal(+)Knights, claims to be one of the top clans around. They claimed to have only the best gamers, and only the best ideas. Well they made alot of claims, and at the same time - told alot of lies.
The 404 clan, as we once were, issued countless amounts of challenges to this clan. We wanted to play games - not chat. We wanted competition, and we found nothing with the Royal(+)Knights. If they didn't turn down our challenges and requests, they kicked us from their channel or ignored us. We were however able to recieve a quote from them:
"We dont do that. We aren't a playing clan. Go away or we will stick 20 bots in your channel."
This was no isolated incident. We checked with several other clans (all with similar claims) and most were nearly identical to the Royal(+)Knights! We were left to wonder what a clan truly was. A clan, we thought, was a group of people who played games. Now apparently all they do is bicker and try to take over another clan's channel. Will they ever realize that having 20 bots on at once kills the service they use? And moreover, will they ever care? I say, no.
